Virginia Otto

Virginia F. Otto, 83, Bismarck, North Dakota, passed away, Saturday, December 26, 2020, at a local hospital. Family will be hosting a celebration of her life from 1-3:00 PM, Sunday, January 3, 2021, at DaWise-Perry/Mandan Crematory, (4211 Old Red Trail, Mandan). Private family burial will be in Mandan Union Cemetery. Cremation has taken place.

Virginia was born May 4, 1937, at Glen Ullin, ND, to Joseph and Matilda (Erhardt) Diess. She graduated from Glen Ullin High School in 1956. She married Florian Hopfauf and later divorced. She then married James Otto in 1970.

She is survived by her daughters, Deborah (Gary) Petermann, Valerie (James) Ronquillo, Lois Keller, Kristi (Jason) Schiermeister, and Annette Otto; her sons, Briant Hopfauf (Debbie Butterfield), Rick (Debbie) Hopfauf, Scott Otto, Keith (Kris) Otto; 12 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one on the way; numerous, nieces, nephews, and special friends.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Ed Diess, sisters, Florence Diess, and Reinie (Joe) Doll, and son-in-law, Dan Keller.
