Matt SeeWalker Obituary (1942 - 2014)

Matthew "Matt" See Walker, 71, Mandan, North Dakota, died, Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, January 11, 2014, in Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall, Mandan, North Dakota. Burial will be in Mandan Union Cemetery, Mandan, at a later date. Matt was born to George and Rose (Belland) SeeWalker on January 26, 1942, at Fort Yates. He grew up and attended schools at Fort Yates, and Pierre, South Dakota. After high school, he continued his education at Vermillion, South Dakota and Chicago, Illinois. Through a federal relocation program, he went to California where he met his wife Carole in Los Angeles. Soon after the deaths of her father and his older brother in 1973, they began a search for spiritual truth, hope, and answers from the Bible. This resulted in studies of the Bible with Jehovah's Witnesses. It was also during this time that they, with their children, Dave (now deceased), Gary, and Delilah, moved to North Dakota and resumed their Bible studies. On March 31, 1979, Matt was baptized and remained faithful to Christian service to Jehovah God for the rest of his life. He is survived by by his wife, Carole, Mandan; children, Delilah, South Dakota, and Gary, Arizona; siblings, Raphael, North Dakota, George, Minnesota, Theresa (Richard) Malonado, Nevada; granddaughter, Isabella (Colter) Hegstrom, Texas, Desiree, North Dakota, and Shawn, Minneapolis; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, brother and sister-in-laws. Matt was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Milton, Ronald, Stanley, Margaret, Dorothy, and Rosemary.
