Katina Carter Obituary (1973 - 2017)

Katina "Tina" Marie Carter, 44, Bismarck, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2017, at CHI St. Alexius Health, Bismarck. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, March 20, 2017, at Capital Christian Center, Bismarck with Pastor Dan Kent officiating. There will be no visitation, as cremation has taken place. Katina was born January 13, 1973, at Dickinson, to Ronald and Kay (Dutchuk) Carter. She was raised and educated in the Bismarck area graduating from Bismarck High School. She married Cory Thompson in 1994. From this union, a son Cody was born. Later she gave birth to a son Cameron with Darin Wald with whom some of her happiest years were spent. They spent numerous weekends camping and fishing which she enjoyed very much. She always had a favorite saying "the big fish bite early" and couldn't wait to get everyone out the door in the morning on the way to the lake. They also made snowmobiling trips to the mountains as well as vacationing in Florida and California. Tina was a very generous and kind hearted person who loved to laugh and was always quick with a joke. She kept her spirits high as she tried to live with Crohn's Disease and she always put others first, especially her two sons. She worked at various jobs over the years including Med Center One and Aetna. In recent years, Tina had become more in touch with her faith. She enjoyed reading from the good book, attending mass and volunteering her time at the church. She will be missed dearly by her friends and family. She is survived by her two sons, Cody Thompson, Plover, Wisconsin and Cameron Wald, Bismarck; mother, Kay Carter-Staples and step-father Austin Staples, Plover, Wisconsin; grandparents Walter(Betty) Dutchuk, Bismarck; sister, Michelle Carter-Whiteley, Plover, Wisconsin; brothers, Tim, Ham Lake, Minnesota, Mike and Terry Carter, Anchorage, Alaska; aunts, Sandra (Lynn) Atterberry, Westcliff, Colorado; uncles, Steve (Susan) Dutchuk, Dickinson, Neal (Joanne) Johnson, Killdeer, Gene (Deloris) Carter, Roscoe, Illinois and Al (Shirley) Carter, Windom, Minnesota; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Tina was preceded in death by her father, Ronald; grandparents, Leon (Doris) Carter; brother, Jay Carter; and uncle Bruce Dutchuk.
