Helen Braun

Helen Braun, 93, Bismarck, passed away Monday, October 14, 2019 at St. Alexius, Bismarck. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, October 18, 2019, at DaWise-Perry Funeral Services with Deacon Dennis Rohr officiating. Visitation is scheduled for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Mandan Union Cemetery.

Helen was born December 29, 1925 at Glen Ullin, to Joseph and Susanna (Knapp) Kaip. She was raised and educated in Glen Ullin, North Dakota. She was united in marriage to Raymond Braun and together had six loving children. She was a cook for the Mandan School District for many years. She enjoyed camping, fishing, baking and cooking. She made the best Apple Strudel.

She is survived by her six children, three daughters, Lauren (John) Zueger, Turtle Lake, North Dakota, Brenda (Peter) Schmalenberger, Mandan, and Robin (Gary) Aus, Carson, North Dakota; three sons, Terry (Kathleen) Surprise, Arizona, Allen (Jeanie), and Dennis (Annette), all of Mandan; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and special friends.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one granddaughter; and 11 siblings.
