Ardel Lang Obituary (1930 - 2018) - Mandan, North Dakota

Ardel Lang, 88, Mandan, North Dakota, passed away Saturday, December 29, 2018, at Miller Point, Mandan. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, January 11, 2019, at Zion Lutheran Church, Bismarck with Rev. Thomas Marcis Jr. officiating. Visitation will be 6:00-7:00 PM Thursday January 10, 2019, with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM at DaWise-Perry Funeral Services, Mandan. Cremation has taken place. Inurnment will be in Mandan Union Cemetery. Ardel was born December 28, 1930, to Helmuth and Tillie (Mittelsteadt) Lang at Golden Valley, North Dakota, where he was raised and educated. On October 2, 1951, he married Marie Reiner in Golden Valley, North Dakota. They farmed and ranched in Zap until 1965 when they moved to Minot where he was employed by Cenex Land O' Lakes. He retired in 1996 and became a snowbird for ten years and then moved to Apache Junction Arizona for nine years, before moving back to Mandan Edgewood Vista in October 2015. Ardel liked to visit with friends, play pinochle, and go to jams. He was an active dancer and loved Ole Time Music, especially waltzes and polkas. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Marie; one daughter, Cheryl (Kevin) Larson; three sons, Malcom, Dan (Linda), and Dallas (Rene); five grandchildren, Christopher and Tyler Larson, Hannah (Travis) McDonald, Kayla (Charles Hunt) Grissom and Dallas Jr. (Sarah) Lang; seven great-grandchildren, Caylee Larson, Myles, Jaden and Maxon McDonald, Tristan and Samuel Hunt and Logan Lang; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ardel was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Alvin (Marian) Lang and infant brother.
