Aloysius Schatz Obituary (1934 - 2019)

Aloysius Schatz, 84, Mandan, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at CHI, St. Alexius, Bismarck. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at Christ the King Catholic Church with Fr. Nick Schneider officiating. Visitation is scheduled for one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Al was born September 23, 1934 at Zeeland, North Dakota, to Michael and Elizabeth (Seiler) Schatz. He was raised and educated in Zeeland, graduated from Zeeland High School. He served in the US Army. He married Elsie Reich on June 23, 1978 in Mandan. Al is survived by his sisters, Eugenia Welk and Rose Kraft; four stepchildren, Marian (Keith) Stolz, Edwina (Paul) Haegele, Stacy (Ken) Putnik and Greta (Fred) Jahraus; numerous, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and special friends.
