Allen Linn Obituary (1954 - 2019) - Mandan, North Dakota

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:30 PM, Saturday, December 28, 2019, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Center with Rev. Dennis Ristvedt officiating. Cremation has taken place. Allen Dale Linn Was born on July 8, 1954 to Viola (Moldrem) and Kenneth Linn. He was raised in Wessington Springs, SD. After High School he attended Mitchell Technical Institute, Graduating in 1974 with a degree in Commercial Baking. While in Mitchell he met Carol Isaak. They were united in marriage on August 22, 1975. Together they had two children, daughter Janet and Son Shaun. Allen had a successful career in baking until 1988. He changed his career path to sales and when his employer Dust-Tex opened a branch in North Dakota Allen and Carol relocated to Mandan. The Family remained in Mandan until 1997, when Allen and Carol made the move to Center, ND. Allen was an accomplished Handyman and worked on many remodeling projects in the Center area. One of his greatest passions was music. With a voice that could rival Elvis or Sinatra, He entertained many with his singing. His family never tired of hearing him sing, which was good, since he would sing or hum almost constantly. One of Janet's fondest memories are of Christmas mornings and Allen and his dad Kenneth singing "Jingle Bells" as loud as they could to wake the household up. Which would always transition into " The Monkey wrapped it's tail around the Flagpole.......... In the Rain." Allen passed away early on the morning of December 24, 2019 with his wife by his side. He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Carol of Center: Sister Leanna (Dale) Stelmacher of Hitchcock, SD: Daughter Janet (John) Kostelecky of Lincoln, ND ; Son Shaun Linn of Eugene, OR; 4 Grandchildren: Wesley and Wyatt Kostelecky of Lincoln; Tyler Reisner and Rylee Linn of Eugene: 2 Nieces Corina (Terry) McClain of Hitchcock, SD and Heidi (Stephen) Fontenot of Black Hawk, SD: 2 Nephews Nicholas and Tim (Serina) Stelmacher of Huron, SD He was Devoted to his family and treasured the many friendships he made along his journey. He will be missed terribly but We find joy and peace in knowing he is In Heaven looking down on us and once again singing "Jingle Bells" with his dad.
