Obituary for Darlene Dipple

Darlene Dipple, 81, Mandan, North Dakota, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Miller Pointe – a Prospera Community, Mandan. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 3, 2018, at Grafton Lutheran Church, Grafton, North Dakota. Friends and family will gather one hour prior to the service at the church.

Darlene Joy Bjerke, daughter of Almer and Irene (Rasmussen) Bjerke, was born October 22, 1936, in Walsh County, North Dakota. She attended Chase School, later graduating from Grafton High School in 1955. She married Raymond Dipple on October 9, 1955 at Grafton Lutheran Church. After moving into town from the farm in 1988, together they later retired from farming in Action Township in Walsh County in 1996.
Darlene and Ray were especially delighted when, in 1986, they welcomed their great nephew Dane Ferguson into their home, raising Dane through his high school graduation. Darlene Joy Dipple lived up to her name and brought "Joy" to everyone around her, and always put the needs of others before herself--including her dogs! She touched many lives, helped raise a village over the years by caring for many of her nieces and nephews, and brought Joy to us through her love for her family and passion for cooking and baking.
Surviving Darlene are Dane (Elizabeth) Ferguson and Ray Dipple, Darlene’s husband. Also surviving her are a sister Sue Ellen Ferguson (Cal) of Grafton, a brother David Bjerke (Anne) of Emerado, ND, nieces & nephews Brenda Ferguson (Virgil), Heather Raney (Nathaniel), Shelly Yergen (Ken), Kory Bjerke, Jill Sanderson, Kristan Demers, Brad Bjerke and Kim Brekke, several great nephews, one great niece, and five great great nephews.
Preceding Darlene in death were her parents, baby sister Joan, brother Gary, and nephew Scott Ferguson.
